The Life of a Female Farmer

As a farmer’s daughter, I wanted to explore and raise the discussions behind the attitudes towards female farmers, and how they are overlooked for their role. My work focuses on giving four female farmers from different backgrounds the chance to express their thoughts and feelings on a matter that’s personal to them and their community. Farming is stereotypically seen as a masculinised career, with the female figure being seen as the ‘Farmers Wife’ or the ‘Farmers Secretary’, but these empowering women are here to show that this isn’t the case.
